Today we were able to finally announce this year’s location of BarCamp Berlin 3. Some of you maybe participated in the little riddle we posted before.
Venue
The BarCamp Berlin 3 will take place at the “Hauptstadtrepräsentanz” (Berlin Representative Office) of the Deutsche Telekom. It’s located right in the center of the city. It offers a huge amount of space, modern technological infrastructure and at the same time a rich sense of history: It has been an important building for German telecommunications since the 19th century and the former residence of the “Kaiserliches Haupttelegraphenamt” (Imperial Head Office of Telegraphy). Furthermore, the first German telephone line was established here in 1877.
Save the date
Registration is going to be opened soon
Registration for the BarCamp Berlin 3 will be opened at http://barcampberlin3.org at August 31th or September 1st. For registering you need to follow three steps:
- first get a mixxt account, which is for free
- then join the BarCamp Berlin 3 network
- after that go to the registration page and select the events you want to join
For more information on how to register for BarCamp Berlin 3 see our registration page. There will be different lists for the workshop days and the evening events. Put your name at the end of the lists as long as there are still some spaces left. If the attendee list is full, please don’t panic, nothing’s lost yet: Put your name on the waiting list. You’ll have a chance to move up into the attendee list at the moment new spaces in the attendee list become available. This will happen when people drop out from the attendee list or if we are able to raise the official number of available spaces which depends on some negotiations with the venue.
If you put your name on the attendee list and later decide that you will not attend the BarCamp Berlin 3, please remove your name from the list as soon as possible to give those in the waiting list a chance to attend.
We are also holding back some space for international visitors. If you are an international visitor and if you are on the waiting list, than please contact us at international@barcampberlin3.org. We will try to put you on one of the international guests spaces then.
Don’t forget the Rules!
We are realizing that number 2 from The Rules of BarCamp seems to drift into kind of a sleep mode. No one seems to blog anymore, that one is going to visit certain BarCamps. This seems to be a common problem for all BarCamps and therefore we’d like to remind you on the second rule:
“You do blog about BarCamp!”
Please gives others the chance to find out about BarCamps by talking about them! We made it very simple by providing a code generator for our logo. Please visit http://blog.barcampberlin3.org/spread-the-word to use it in your blog or wherever you want. Other BarCamps provide similar logo pages.
Having said this we wish you all the best and Spread the word!
